Aki Lumi’s works always show a chaotic status of order and disorder. So to speak, what he does is to think questions such as, “What are artificial objects?”, “What kind of cognitive world has created the world we live in?”, and so on. He then verifies these phenomenons by photography, painting and sketching. In addition, this might be a sort of contradictory saying of him—that these artificial images he created by ruler and computer, whichever one—has expression of painting, and they are all tremendously beautiful.
