Jiu Society’s latest series, “JoJo Dog TV Shopping Channel”, participated in the plate“Art Making City” of the Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture opened today. In the new work, the Jiu Society has continued to “tell” Shenzhen in their own unique way. “JoJo Dog TV Shopping Channel” borrows the panic marketing segment of TV shopping ads to show the urban and rural people’s longing for material life in a humorous and poisonous way. Ad adhering to the “based in Shenzhen, mainland China” strategy of development in the global market integration, e-commerce background, the most primitive way to recall the past, the ups and downs of madness and vanity.

 

 

Jiu Society is made up of three members who are Fang Di, Ji Hao and Jin Hao. The three young artists are all new-generation Shenzhen natives who grew up in the immigrant city of Shenzhen. For them, Shenzhen is no longer the “place for making money” in the eyes of fathers. They use a young perspective around their own city of “Shenzhen.” Re-examine and voice.

 

 

 

 

2017 the Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture (Shenzhen) Theme: Cities, Grow in Difference, curated by curator and critic Hanru Hou, URBANUS Urban Practice Partner, Architect Xiaodu Liu, Yan Meng (sorted by surname Pinyin), On December 15, 2017, the exhibition will open at the main exhibition site of Shenzhen Nantou old town. At the same time, there will be practical exhibitions and main exhibitions of urban villages such as Luohu, Yantian, Longhua and Guangming Formation of multi-regional linkage and complementarity. The exhibition lasted until March 17, 2018.

 

Under the theme “Cities, Grow in Difference”, the exhibition is divided into three organic links from the content structure: “Global South” “Urban Village” and “Art Making City”.
